The werewolf & The cheerleader

I chuckle. "You got to be kidding." She just stands there silently. "Oh come on you can't be serious. Werewolves like big giant walks like a man, werewolves."

She nods. "Ya there is two sure ways to kill them chop off their heads or shot them in the heart with a silver bullet."

I smile. "Really a silver bullet so the myths are true."

She smiles. "Ya that's about the only thing that they got right."

I rub the back of my neck. "So what do we need to do."

She calmly relpy. "We train."

Two days went by and two more attacks, I throw my bag on the ground next to the table we set up at the training grounds. "I'm tired of letting people get attacked while I do nothing."

She nods "your right its time we do something."

My jaw drops. "Really."

She smiles. "Ya your as ready as your going to get." She waves me over to the map on the wall she has been working on for weeks. "Well I think I know where to start looking." She points to a field just beyond the football field.

"That's where the cheerleaders practice, you don't think it's one of them do you."

She shrugs. "Ben its hard to say, all I know is that is the one spot all the victims have in common."

I nod. "Okay, lets check it out."

She smiles. " I was hoping you would say that." She pats a black duffle bag. "I have everything we might need, are you ready?"

I look down at my phone that I have been fiddling with and I see my lock screen which is my favorite picture of mom, and Jimmy with a heavy sigh I say. "Let's do this."

The walk there was really uneventful, but when we got to the feild the cheerleaders were hooting and hollering. I shook my head and laughter I never understood why people need to bring attention to themselves. "So what's the first step Claire."

She pulls out a small silver whistle. "Now we wait." She puts the whistle to her lips and blow, but no sound seems to come from it.

A cheerleader doing cartwheel falls and another climbing to the top of the pyramid slips and falls, then I feel a tapping on my shoulder I turn to see jill standing next to me. "What are you and your girlfriend doing her Ben."

I stare at jill in a cheerleader outfit. "Wow your beautiful, I mean you look nice." My cheeks blush. "why are you dress like a cheerleader."

She blushes. "If you would pay attention to people other then Claire you would know that I joined the squad."

Claire walks away. "I'm going to be over here."

I nod. "Jill I'm sorry I have been busy with some important things..."

She cuts off my sentence with a fairly loud groan. "Come on Ben we are best freinds, stop keeping secrets from me."

I look to Claire, she shakes her head. "Fine." Claire shakes her head and throws her hands to the side. "I have been training to hunt monsters."

She goes to walk away but suddenly a football player leaps on her clawing at her and biting the air, she screams. I hold out his hand and Claire tosses a michtelle  to me. I slice downwards cutting off his head. "I told you I have been busy." I stand there with the blood dripping down the blade.

Claire tugs at my arm. "Ben we need to get out of here, Ben lets go."

Lesson 3: Silver & Claws

The next few days we took it easy, until Thursday. When a news report of an animal attack came on and Claire leaped out of her seat. She has been a regular, since Thanksgiving. Which for all my mom knows is a football game that got really out of hand. "Hey Ben we have to go do that thing."

I look at her confused. "What thing?"

She shakes her head. "That project we have been working on."

I half smile. "Oh ya I forgot, sorry lets go." I grab my sweater as we leave.

Mom waves as we leave. "Have a good day honey, dinner will be at 6:30 try not to be late. Claire will you be eating here today."

Claire nods as I reply. "Thanks mom we will try to make it on time today."

The door slams behind us, Claire doesn't slow down until she is out of ear shot. "Ben we may have a problem."

I nod. "I gathered that by how you hurried us out, But what's going on."

She stops. "A few days ago I received this letter." She hands me a small piece of paper.

I unfolds it and it reads. Beware the wolf S.
I hand it back to her. "That's kinda vague."

Clarie shakes her head. "There are only a few wolves we need to be warned about."

I nod. "Ok so what are we talking about here."

Starts walking towards our training grounds. "by the sound of it we are dealing with a werewolf."
