Lesson 4: Gods and Deities

Note from author: Sorry about the Long pause but life got the best of me....

"Strong men have tried to climb the mountain of the gods but only the worthy have reached the top." Claire close the old book and glares at the teacher. "You know that this is really inaccurate information."

Mr.Staymen leans against his desk. "What do you mean by that Claire?" He says with a intergred smile.

Claire leans forward in her chair, "the mountain being the home of the gods."  She said with a smile.

Mr.Staymen laughs, "An what do you know of the gods you are rarely here to learn anything let alone pick up a book."

Her smile fades. "Just cause I don't do my homework doesn't mean I don't study, you and I just have different views on what's more important."

He nods in agreement. "So where was the home of the gods then if not on the mountain."

She sits back, "they stay on the move from their enemies now a days, but they do meet every six months to help with the shift of seasons but that location is random."

Mr.Staymen shrugs. "So you want me to believe that the gods are scared." His eye brow twitches."What would they be scared of."

She smiles. "Even gods are hunted by something."

Mr.Staymens smile fades, as the class bell rings. "No home work tonight kids have a good weekend."  As Claire passes him he grabs her wrist. " what were you talking about what hunts a god?"

She try's to pull away but he tightens his grip with inhuman power. "Look Mr.Staymen Titians hunt gods now let me go."

He half heartedly chuckles, as he releases her wrist. "Sorry I should have known, have a good weekend Clarie."

Clarie and Ben meet at the training grounds several hours later, "So what you going to teach me today." Ben said with a smile.

"Well today we talk about something I never had the pleasure of dealing with... gods and other deities." She shakes her head "You need to understand that they can't be kind at least forever like us humans."

Ben nods "So what do I do if we run into one."

What once was myth!

The next day there was never a knock on the door like I though would come so I headed to school like normal, when I get to the bus stop my heart sank when I see Jill. I nervously approach her. "Hey Jill about yesterday, Im sorry you had to see that I really have been trying to tell you about what we do."

She stares at me confused. " what happened yesterday?"

I look at her. "You don't remember the attack on the school."

She laughs. "You mean the prank at practice."

I am astonished that she believes that was only a prank. "Mhmmm ya, the prank."

She smiles and someone calls her name. "Hey Ben, next time go light on the fake blood."

I smile and nod. "Will do see you later." She runs off to her new friends smiling and laughing as if nothing ever happened. "I wish I was still that  oblivious of the world."

Claire laughs "But then you would surely be dead."

I glare at her. "Why don't they know about the werewolf yesterday."

She rubs her neck. "well I have friends in high places anyways you ready for lesson four."

I shake my head. "No i barely understand  what happen yesterday."

Her smile fades. "Look Ben there are somethings you should just leave well enough alone."

I glare at her. "With what I have seen in these last few months I can't leave it alone, so tell me what happened and why we are the only two who remember it."

She throws her hands to her side. "Fine the short story is a angel wiped everyone's memories of the events that took place yesterday and replaced them with a happier one."

"You have an angel on speed dail?" I say with disbelief.

She shrugs. "Ya kinda."

I shake my head. "What do you mean kinda."

She groans. "Look kid it's hard for me to talk about so just let it die ok?"

I nod. "Fine but you owe me an explanation." I chuckle to my self. "Angels what's next?" She smiles as the bell rings.
