The werewolf & The cheerleader

I chuckle. "You got to be kidding." She just stands there silently. "Oh come on you can't be serious. Werewolves like big giant walks like a man, werewolves."

She nods. "Ya there is two sure ways to kill them chop off their heads or shot them in the heart with a silver bullet."

I smile. "Really a silver bullet so the myths are true."

She smiles. "Ya that's about the only thing that they got right."

I rub the back of my neck. "So what do we need to do."

She calmly relpy. "We train."

Two days went by and two more attacks, I throw my bag on the ground next to the table we set up at the training grounds. "I'm tired of letting people get attacked while I do nothing."

She nods "your right its time we do something."

My jaw drops. "Really."

She smiles. "Ya your as ready as your going to get." She waves me over to the map on the wall she has been working on for weeks. "Well I think I know where to start looking." She points to a field just beyond the football field.

"That's where the cheerleaders practice, you don't think it's one of them do you."

She shrugs. "Ben its hard to say, all I know is that is the one spot all the victims have in common."

I nod. "Okay, lets check it out."

She smiles. " I was hoping you would say that." She pats a black duffle bag. "I have everything we might need, are you ready?"

I look down at my phone that I have been fiddling with and I see my lock screen which is my favorite picture of mom, and Jimmy with a heavy sigh I say. "Let's do this."

The walk there was really uneventful, but when we got to the feild the cheerleaders were hooting and hollering. I shook my head and laughter I never understood why people need to bring attention to themselves. "So what's the first step Claire."

She pulls out a small silver whistle. "Now we wait." She puts the whistle to her lips and blow, but no sound seems to come from it.

A cheerleader doing cartwheel falls and another climbing to the top of the pyramid slips and falls, then I feel a tapping on my shoulder I turn to see jill standing next to me. "What are you and your girlfriend doing her Ben."

I stare at jill in a cheerleader outfit. "Wow your beautiful, I mean you look nice." My cheeks blush. "why are you dress like a cheerleader."

She blushes. "If you would pay attention to people other then Claire you would know that I joined the squad."

Claire walks away. "I'm going to be over here."

I nod. "Jill I'm sorry I have been busy with some important things..."

She cuts off my sentence with a fairly loud groan. "Come on Ben we are best freinds, stop keeping secrets from me."

I look to Claire, she shakes her head. "Fine." Claire shakes her head and throws her hands to the side. "I have been training to hunt monsters."

She goes to walk away but suddenly a football player leaps on her clawing at her and biting the air, she screams. I hold out his hand and Claire tosses a michtelle  to me. I slice downwards cutting off his head. "I told you I have been busy." I stand there with the blood dripping down the blade.

Claire tugs at my arm. "Ben we need to get out of here, Ben lets go."

Lesson 3: Silver & Claws

The next few days we took it easy, until Thursday. When a news report of an animal attack came on and Claire leaped out of her seat. She has been a regular, since Thanksgiving. Which for all my mom knows is a football game that got really out of hand. "Hey Ben we have to go do that thing."

I look at her confused. "What thing?"

She shakes her head. "That project we have been working on."

I half smile. "Oh ya I forgot, sorry lets go." I grab my sweater as we leave.

Mom waves as we leave. "Have a good day honey, dinner will be at 6:30 try not to be late. Claire will you be eating here today."

Claire nods as I reply. "Thanks mom we will try to make it on time today."

The door slams behind us, Claire doesn't slow down until she is out of ear shot. "Ben we may have a problem."

I nod. "I gathered that by how you hurried us out, But what's going on."

She stops. "A few days ago I received this letter." She hands me a small piece of paper.

I unfolds it and it reads. Beware the wolf S.
I hand it back to her. "That's kinda vague."

Clarie shakes her head. "There are only a few wolves we need to be warned about."

I nod. "Ok so what are we talking about here."

Starts walking towards our training grounds. "by the sound of it we are dealing with a werewolf."

Thanksgiving with a Shifter Part 2

The oven dings and the pies are done, the turkey needs craving and I get the honor this year. When I finishes carving the turkey I rush up to my room, I pull my note book out of the desk drawer. Flipping through the pages, Shifters is where I stop. I read the page. "Shifters can take the form of anything that's living, silver burns them to the touch and fire is the best way to dispose of them. They have the ability to read the minds of those they are mimicking, so watch for camera flares, and the presents of a googy skin like substance. " I flip the page. "Side note on powers... Aside from the mimicking they have been known to have super strength and speed."

I throw the book back down. "Shit." I run to the living room. "Jimmy where is Claire."

Jimmy doesn't pull his attention from the football game. "There in the kitchen."

Mom sees me. "Ben can you grab the nice silverware from the cupboard and set the table."

I smile. "Sure no problem, hey Claire would you like to give me a hand."

My mom replys. "Come on Ben I need her help."

I shake my head. "It will only take a second, then she can help you."

She nods. "Fine."

We both walk over to the cupboard and she grabs the plate and I grab the silverware. She places a plate at every chair, then I place the forks and spoons down, as she goes to leave I finally speak. "Can you place the knives down while I go get the napkins."

She shakes her head. "Can't you do it Ben I need to help your mother."

I smile as I toss a knife at her, she naturally catches it to protect herself, as it touches her skin it starts to burn her. I grin. "I know what you are!"

She drops the knife and rushes towards the back door. "Lets take this outside ass face." I have to give to this shift it has really picked up on her social ques. She smacks me across the face sending me flying out the window, I groan as I try to stand. She leaps up onto the window seal. "Come on Ben come play with me."

Jimmy comes around the corner with his football. "Guys what's going on I heard a loud crash." Claire leaps at me from the window seal but a football smacks her in the face and she misses me by inches, it didn't do much from pissing her off.

Smiles. "Wait your turn Jimmy your next."

I tackle her to the ground. "don't touch him you bitch." As we struggle around on the ground she shakes me off, I hear a soft pop as I hit the ground. I try to stand but my vision is blurry causing me to second guess my footing. When I do finally stand she smacks me across the face sending me crashing back through the window.

While I push my self back up I pick up the silver knife and dive back out the window. I roll to a stop inches away from her. She lungs at the same time I stab forward. The knife easily cuts through her cloths and into her chest cavity, Blood goshes out as her body begins to desolve. "Jimmy go get the shove and some"

When we get done cleaning the mess of red and tan goo. I notice something in the bush that Miss Thomsons cat was. Me and Jimmy both look at each other. Jimmy whispers. "Ben check it out."

I nod and walk slowly toward the bush. "Jimmy stand back." I push some of the push aside and laying face down her hands tied to gather and her month gagged. "Claire." I shout. "Wake up." I cut her bonds and give her alittle shake.

She groggily nod. "How was dinner."

Me and Jimmy look at each other. I smile. "You made it back just in time."

Thanksgiving with a Shifter

Thanksgiving is supposed to be a time to appreciate all that you have in your life, this year would be no different. Mom made me invite Claire so she wouldn't be alone, which I honestly didn't think she would say yes but she did. So here we are sitting on my porch while the temp begins to make its slow decline to a whopping 40 degrees. "So what's next on the list for training Claire."

She smiles "we can talk about that later Ben, today is a special day believe me these days don't come to often so enjoy while you can." She stands and walks down the steps. "I will be back soon."

I nod. "See you soon, have a good walk." She smiles and walks away with her head hanging low, I sigh. "This couldn't get any worse." I hear my mom shouting for me, "I'm coming." As I stand to go back in I hear the bushes shutter, I pick up a pebble and toss it at the bush. Miss Thomsons cat jumps out and sprints down the road. "Skitty what are doing out."

When I enter the house I get a feeling that I should be more worried about skitty but she has always been like that so I push my inticest aside. "What's up mom."

She smiles as sweat begins to rolls down her cheek. "Can you be a dear and check on the turkey, just let me know if the red tap has popped out."

I nod and open the oven door. "Not yet mom." Claire walks in as the oven shuts. "How was your walk."

She sits down at the table and I notice a small cut on her cheek. "It was fine a little cold but nothing I haven't been through."

I look at her curiously. "What about that cut on your cheek."

She shakes her head and touches her cheek. "I don't know, I didn't feel anything that's so weird."

I nod, "Ben can you get the camera."

I stare at her. "Mom come on can't we skip it this year."

Mom shakes her head. "No Ben this is a tradition."

I roll my eyes. "Fine whatever."

I grab the camera. "Here you go."

Mom shouts . "Time for the yearly picture James."

He hurrys into the kitchen in his nice and fancy suit. "where we taking the pic this time mom."

She smiles. "Nothing special this year, just at the table."
Me and Jimmy move to the other end of the table where Claire is sitting as mom sets up the cameras timer. "Here let me move." Clarie says.

Mom shakes her head. "No you are apart of my sons life so you will be in our picture."

Clarie smiles "ok."

The camera starts to click rapidly. She hurrys over to us. "Smile boys." We all smile and the camera flashes.

Then mom picks up the camera and checks the picture. "That's werid there was some kind of dirt or something on the lens."

I take the camera, The picture looks good but Claire's eyes seems to be lighting up like some kind of lightbulbs.

Salt & Saws part 2

The blood I will never forget, Tim broke his nose in several spots. It turns out that Jimmy had a brick in his bag.  "What hell were you thinking." I shout as we sit outside the principals office.

He shakes his head. "I don't know, you said you wouldn't always be there for me. So I stood up for myself."

I shake my head. "Jimmy that's not the way to do it, you need to strive to be better then me."

Just then mom clears her throat. "That's right Jimmy no picking fights anymore." I smile and nod, mom glares at me. "As for you Ben."

I shake my head. "How is it that he breaks Tim's nose and I'm the one your mad at."

Mom sits down next to us. "Ben he has eyes he sees the way you deal with issue's."

"So your saying this is my fault." I shout

Mom shakes her head. "That's not what I'm saying honey but you do need..."

I interrupt her by standing. "Whatever mom I don't have to take this." I storm out of the room.

As I leave the front doors Clarie catches up to me. "You know what you need?"

I shake my head. "What do I need."

She smiles. "A good hunt."

I think about it for a bit. "You know what lets do it." I smile.

She nods. "Meet me at the shop door in an hour."

When we meet up everyone is at lunch. "What's the plan clarie."

She smiles. "Well my research paid off I found out that a shop teacher in the sixty's die on the job in a freak band saw accident."

I nod. "Wow so we need to salt his body right."

Her smile fades. "Well that's thing he was cremated." My face most have been concerning cause she responds with. "Calm down we just need to find something he was linked to."

I shake my head. "How the hell do we do that?" She pulls out her emf reader. "Oh ok that makes since."

As we enter the shop, the buzz saws kick on by themselves. "Let's make this quick, before someone comes."

She begins to sweep the room a low hum can be heard as she passes through stronger magnetic fields. "It seems to be coming from that wall of tools."

When we start to walk toward the tools, A tall figure appears before us. His face was distorted, his clothes were bloody, his left hand was wrapped in bandages. He doesn't say anything he just stands there staring. I hear the cocking of Claire's shotgun then a loud bang. "Find the tool." She shouts as she tosses me the emf.

I start a sweep across the tools until the emf starts beeping like crazy at a old rusted hand saw with a wooden handle. "Found it." I grab it and old mister Woodstock didn't like it. He appears behind me, and I go flying across the shop slamming into a the pottery furnace. "Shit." I scramble for the saw. "Toss me a salt shell."

She nods and reaches into her bag and pulls out a shell and tosses it to me. The figure appears in front of me and the salt shell glides through him causing him to lose form briefly. I put the shell in my mouth and pull the end off with my teeth. "Rest in peace you scary bitch." I toss both the saw and salt into the flames the small amount of gunpowder explodes sending me to the floor.

The ghosts scream echos through the shop, before it bursts into flames. Clarie laughts and I smile.  "See it feels good to save people with out them knowing."

The rest of the day was as normal as ever, we both decided to rest up and continue the training tomorrow. Which was a good ideal cause I'm sure I need to ice a few broken ribs.

Salt & Saws

Later that night we broke into the shop, it turns out Claire is every skilled with a lock pick, which proves that there is still so much I don't know about her and that kinda frightens me. Once were in side she pulls out a cassette player, and puts her head phones on. "I know the best time to listen to your jams." I ask as I shake my head.

She shakes her head. "Its not what you think, it's a home made emf reader."

Suddenly the lights on her emf start to blink rapidly, and I can hear a slight whining from her head phones. "What's that mean."

I snicker. "Did you make it."

She shakes her head. "No a good friend of mine made it before we lost contact."

Suddenly the light on her emf begins to flash rapidly and a low whine can be heard from her headphones. "What's going on."

She smiles. "We have an abnormal electronic magnetic field near this saw."

I nod. "Ok so."

She smiles, "Ether there is a magnetic battery here our we have a ghost in class." She puts the emf reader away. "Ok lets leave we need to do some research."

We split up after we get out, I head home and she headed toward the lumber yard. I woke to my radio. "Late last night the janitor of a local school was killed in a freak accident while cleaning the shop class."

I jump out of bed. "Holy shit, that could have been me."

I head to the kitchen and find my brother trying to get into the cookie jar. "You know mom will kill you if she finds out right." I reach up and left him back down to the floor, then turn and grab a couple cookies. "Here don't say I never do anything for you Jimmy."

Jimmy smiles. "Thanks  Ben, you walking to school today or riding the bus." He looks at me worried.

I half heartedly smile. "James you know I won't always be there to battle your battles right."

James nods. "I know I just feel safe when your around."

I smile. "But you need to stand up for yourself our they will always walk over you."

Lisa clears her throat. "Ben we do not condone violates in this house."

I roll my eyes. "Sometimes violates is the only answer, mom." Lisa shakes her head. The bus honks its horn. "Whatever we got to go."

My mom stands and watches as we run to the bus. "Ben we will finish this talk later." She shouts as we get on the bus.

James takes a seat closer to the front as I make my way to the back of the bus, its pretty empty considering we are only the second stop in the morning. The next stop should be jill but its not instead we turn toward the lumber yard and we pick up Claire at and old run down cabin. When she steps on the bus she smiles and waves. She sits a few seats back from my brother as the bus begins to move I move up and sit with her. "What did you find out about the ghost of the woodwork."

She smiles. "The ghost of woodwork, that has a good ring to it." I roll my eye. "Ok grumpy, there was a teach who worked here about thirty years ago he died in a accident when he was replacing one of the saw blades."

I stare at the back of the seat. "ok how does this help us."

She shakes her head. "It helps us realize that it's just a lost soul who needs our help, and I got his name."

"Leave me alone." Shouts Jimmy, Tim is now sitting behind him hitting the seat with his knees. "Tim your a jerk." Tim reaches his hand over the seat and slaps Jimmy on the face, and of course the bus driver doesn't see anything.

My rage takes over and I go to stand but clarie stops me. "Let him fight this battle."

Jimmy stands and removes his backpack. "Tim I'm warning you, stop now."

Tim stands up, "what are you going to do short shit."

Jimmy turns and stares. "This is your last warning."

Tim laughs and slaps him on the face. I jump out of my seat but before I can take a few step Jimmy  hits him with his backpack so hard that Tim falls to the floor. When Tim stands back up blood is gushing  out of his nose, he wobbles and falls to the ground. The bus hits its brakes. "What's going on back there Jimmy."

Lesson Two: Salt & Ghosts part 2

Sunday night was a train wreck, packing bullets till eleven and she had me do some balance exercise's until at least one in the morning. I ended up crawling back into my bed around two just to have my mom wake me up at six for school, what I wouldn't do to be a normal kid again.
The bus ride was to relaxing I found myself drifting off more then once, then Tim would run his mouth about who knows what but I didn't even have the energy to deal with his shit today.
The rest of the day was normal which was a relief cause did I ever need to rest. When the lunch Bell rings I drag myself to the closet table and use my backpack as a pillow, thinking I could get a nap in. I should have known better though. Claire slams her books down on the table next to my head.  "hey slacker, we need to talk."
I grunt as I lift my head. "What could you possibly need right now, Claire."
She slaps my back. "Nothing right now, meet me by the football field after school."
Jill walks over and sits next to me as Claire walks away. "What was that about Ben?"
I smile. "Nothing Jill, whats new with you."
She fiddles with her book. "Nothing really except there was this guy who keeps ignoring my phone calls this weekend."
I raise my head from my backpack. "Shit that was this weekend wasn't it, Jill I'm so sorry."
She puts her books down. "Well its fine I have one more recital tonight at nine."
I smiles. "I wouldn't miss it for the world."
She smiles. "I hope that's true, now finish your nap you look beat."
That's exactly what I did, I awoke feeling worse then when I went to sleep. No one was around and the lights were off. I jump off my seat rushing to woodworking shop, but as I open the door the air becomes cold. The lights flicker and the band saws are running. "Hello is anyone here." No one answered my calls. How could I have over slept surely Jill would have woke me.
Suddenly the saws stop all at once, saw dust is blown into the air, forming a face that just stares at me, it opens its mouth and let's out a scream. Everything vanishes and I'm back in the cafeteria, Jill is shaking my arm. "Ben its time for shop lets go, Ben were going to be late."
As me and Jill enter the shop there is a chill that runs down my spine. "Did you feel that?"
Jill shakes her head. "Feel what?"
I rub my arms as they adjust to the chill in the air. "That cold spot, we walked in."
Jill nods. "Ya its always cold out here, why?"
I shake my head. "Oh its nothing."
The rest of the day was as normal as could be, that is until I met Claire after school as I walk over the football. Tim shouts. "Get off the field geek." I never understood why this sport was such a hit for the big ofes.
I clench my fists. "Don't start Tim, cause I'm not scared to finish it."
Tims grins. "Come on guys he isnt worth it."
Claire taps my shoulder. "You need to get that under control, anger is not a good trait for a hunter."
I shake my head. "What did you want to meet me here for?"
Claire sits on bleachers. "Well I heard a rumor that the wood shop is hunted."

Lesson two: Salt and Ghosts Part 1

The scar on my chest burns every time my shirt rubs it wrong, but I know I can't have a doctor look at it without my mom finding out and I can't put her through this too. Claire told me to get some rest because tomorrow we start the real training, but thanks to the stupid burn I barely got any sleep at all. She was knocking on my window at four in the morning. "Come on Ben let’s get a move on it."
I roll my eyes as I force myself out of bed. "Claire why can't we wait till the sun comes up at least."
With a straight face she says. "Will the monsters wait for you to wake up before they eat your face?"
I shake my head. "I guess not." I slam my door and rush to the refrigerator and I leave a note next to moms shopping list. "Mom I'm heading to Tara's house see you tonight -love Ben." Then I rush out the door locking it before I followed Claire down to the river.
She stops at a tree that has fallen across the river forming a unstable bridge. “Today you will be learning about ghosts, their strength's and their weakness." She hopped on to the tree and slowly walks across it as she tries to balance as the tree shakes.
I chuckle. "Ghosts like in the exorcism."
Claire nods. "Yes that is one kind but they tend to be vengeful spirits, but yes they can take control of your body, but that's what the scar will prevent."
I nod. "Okay so how do you stop them?"
She smiles. "Well first line of defense is a salt line, ghosts will not cross it. The second is more of a offensive move."
I look at her confused. "What do you mean kinda?"
Her smile seems to grow.  "These are some of the weapons of our trade, they don't kill them but it can give you the time you need to save your ass."
I smile. "That's always a good thing, so what are these weapons."
She pulls her bag off her shoulder and unzips it showing off a small arsenal of knives and guns. "The first thing up is a buck shot shell filled with rock salt." She tosses it to me. "We will get into that once we get to the yard. Next we have iron." I begin to chuckle. "Ya idjet laugh but this iron rod will save your ass when you’re out of shells."
I nod. "Okay that's all good but how do I kill them."
She smiles. "Feisty aren't you, well to kill you have to know there are two kinds of ghost. One is tied to its bones or hair the next is tied to and item that was once theirs." I nod. "But no matter what it is you salt it and light them up, just make sure it all burns."

Lesson One: The Odd Initiation

Her smile is always on my mind now, like and addiction its never far from my grasp and yet she is never close enough to touch. She soon became a new student of my school, a senior that was held back a few years. But she never talked to me that was until two weeks after the event that changed my way of thinking forever. That Saturday morning was just like any other except I had a young beautiful woman knocking on my window. She waves for me to follow her outside, I open the window. "What could my local stalker want, its been two weeks and you haven't said a word."

Claire smiles. "Are you still breathing?" I roll my eyes. "That's what I thought you ungrateful brat."

I shake my head. "Whatever it couldn't have been that bad."

She shakes her head. "Not that bad, three vampires, two demons and to top it off I had a surprise visit from my dad. He says I need to train you so that's what we're going to do."

I close the window and rush out the door. "Going to a friend’s house be back later." I slam the door behind me, I can't see her anywhere so I walk around my house heading toward my window when she leaps at me with a small dagger. Slicing through my shirt and part of my shoulder. "What was that for?"

She slowly puts the knife away. "Lesson one: Initiation." She tosses be a canteen of what looks like water with some kind of necklace floating in it. "Drink it." As I take a sip she flashes a picture of me. "Also I need you to say Christo.”

I smile at her. "Christo, now tell me what all that was about."

She smiles back. "Those were simple test to see if someone is a human or not." She looks around. "Okay so you passed with flying colors, follow me to what I believe will be a suitable location for the rest of your training." She leads us down to and old abandon lumber yard that is next to the creek that pass through the whole town. She walks us into the center of the lumberyard and she stops next to a barrel that has a fire going, in the fire rest a metal rod. “Take off your shirt.”

I look around confused. “What does my shirt have to do with training?” I ask as I begin to take off my shirt, as I pull it over my head Claire grabs a hold of my hands. “What are you doing Claire?” I scream in pain as I smell my own skin burning, the smell makes me gag, she only holds it there or a few minutes but the pain makes it feel like an hour.

She tosses the rod back in the fire, and lets me fall to the ground. “That’s a anti possession sigil, with it you can’t be rode like a little bitch by any demon no matter how hot they think they are.”

Join the Hunt part 2

As they leave I try to get out of bed but find that every little movement hurts my ribs, but I know I have to get out before he comes back. I finally mange to get off the bed when I hear a slight rasping at the window, prepared for the worst I pull the blinds open and to my surprise Claire is standing on the lawn just outside my room.  "Why are you here."
She chuckles. "To save us all, or did you mean here and now."
I try to open my window to let her in but it will not budge. "it won't move."
She nods. "I know, where is he?"
I look back to the door. "You mean yellow eyes." She nods. "Claire he is with my mother."
Claire nods. "Find some salt and make a line in front of the door."
I turn to look for some salt and all I find is a salt shaker from someone's lunch. I grab it. "Why what can..." I turn to see she is already gone. I rush over to the door and pour the salt in a line as she said.
Right when I finish Wayne opens the door. "Well aren't you a smart one." His eyes flicker to yellow. "It was when I charmed your mother, wasn't it."
I slowly back away from the door. "It was and I will find a way to kill you."
He chuckles. "If you only have salt then you might want to rethink your situation." The window shatters and the wind howls blowing the salt away.
I back myself out the window luckily I'm on the ground floor, Claire hides beside the window. "I have more tricks up my sleeve then you think."
His sinister grin sends a chill down my spine. "You know nothing about demons how do you plan on stopping me." By this time he is just inches away from the window. "Ben if you only knew how important you are."
He steps out the window, and the sound of a zippo is heard. " hey dellweed pick on someone your own size." She drops the lighter setting the grass ablaze in the shape of another devils trap, but the fire doesn't spread from its path.
He stomps his foot and the wind howls, the flames flicker but don't go out. "What trickery is this."
Claire smiles. "A gift from my dad, so don't try there is no escape and now I'm going to send you back to hell."
She begins to chant in Latin. "Its to late there already here Claire." She chants faster as he begins to shake, his head snapping in every direction.
He lets out a roar and the clear sky's fill with storm clouds. "His fate was sealed the day he was born." He look me in the eyes and grins. "You will die a bloody death at the hands of a man you can't remember." He lets out a roar as he begins puking up black smoke, instead of flying away it drifts to the ground. Clarie ends the chant and the smoke goes up in flames.
Clarie laughts with a bright smile. "Welcome to the hunt."

Join the Hunt part 1

I wake up the next day in a hospital bed, confused. A nurse touched my arm and I guess I kicked and screamed until they gave me something to relax me, with the help of four other nurses. When I finally woke from my daze the doctor came in. "Ben you were lucky this time, Two broken ribs and a stress fracture in your femur."
My mom's grip tightens around my fingers. "What were you thinking."
The doctor clears his throat. "Lisa I will bring you his paper work." She nobs as he leaves.
She starts to cry. "Ben was it Tim again."
God did I want to say yes just to see Tim's face, but I take a deep breath. "Its fuzzy but Tim wasn't there."
She stands and hugs him. "Ben I need you to be more careful, I don't know what we would do if we lost you."
The doctor walks back in. "Lisa here is his doctors note for school on Monday. He will need to relax for the next three weeks, so that fracture can heal." He clears his throat. "We also has to notify child protective services and the police."
Lisa nods. "I know Wayne its policy, when will they be here."
Wayne rubs his neck. "Well not till morning, so he has to stay the night sorry."
My mother gasps. "Wayne he has never had to stay overnight, why this time."
Wayne clears his throat. "Due to the unusual circumstances of his injuries, they have asked me to limit all outside interactions."
She shakes her head. "So you believe I would hurt my baby."
Wayne grabs her shoulder softly. "Lisa I would never believe that I'm your neighbor for heaven sake." His eyes flicker just for a moment to yellow, so fast I barely noticed. "Let me show you the way out as we discuss his treatment."

The Smoke Flies

I couldn't bare his stare so I ran as fast as I could but it didn't matter he was always one step ahead of me. Moving so fast I could barely see him. "Come now  Ben, is this how you treat and old friend." He smacks me across the face, I fly like a rag doll full of rocks into the lockers down the hall.
I let out a wale of pain, as tears start to fall down my face. "What are you!" I cry.
He chuckles. "Was i not informative in my introduction, I'm a demon silly boy." He flicks his wrist an my body is dragged toward him, I struggle against an unseen force but to no avail I can't break his hold over me.
I begin to sob. "Why are you doing this, what have I done to you?"
He  laughs. "Me you have never wronged me, not even in the slightest. " my eyes widen. "Don't look at me like that you feeble human, their the ones that want you dead not me." He flicks his wrist again and I slam into the ceiling.
I fall to the floor coughing up blood. "Please Mike, you don't have to do this."
Mike smiles. "I know but its fun." He kneels down and looks at me trying to get away.
There is a quick rattle of the lockers, as Claire rushes by with with her sword drawn. "Leave him alone ass face."
He laughs. "Well if it isn't Claire the would-be hun..." His speech is interrupted by her foot smashing into his jaw.
Claire grins as he drops to one knee. "Don't compare me too hunters, I'm in a class all my own." She pulls a remote garage opener from her pocket, with a click a strange voice begins to chant over the intercom. "See you in hell ass hole." She says.
His head snaps back and forth. "This will not save him Claire, their coming and there is nothing you can do." He takes a few steps to retreat and finds he is unable to move. "Well aren't you a smart one." He looks up at what looks to be a star of David painted on the ceiling.
She smiles. "Like I said I'm in my own class."
His head whips and snaps back and forth, he lets out a unreal roar. A strange wind blows the school doors open. "Its going to take more then a simple devils trap to stop me." The wind howls as the walls begin to shake cracking the ceiling panels and breaking the traps circle."I will see you soon Claire. " he lets out another howl and smoke flies out of his mouth and slams through a vent in the ceiling.

Mikes Secret

Mike has always been nice to me, but when I walked back into his office he seemed disappointed. "Why have you returned Ben." He doesn't look up from his paper work.

I'm stunned by how cold he seems."Mike you have to understand there was this girl and she saved me from that thing with the fangs." My voices becomes shakey. "She she cut its head off like it happens everyday."

Mike looks up from his desk. "I see you failed."

I shake my head in disbelief. "Mike were you even listening he was going to kill me."

Mike stands with a sinister grin. " They usually take the ones that no one will miss, but this time they gave me your name."

My eyes widened with fear. "What are you talking about Mike."

Mike grin. "Its simple you were what they wanted." His eyes flicker to a cloudy yellow.

I slowly back out the door. "What are you?"

He laughs. "I am the son of Azazel, my name is Babel the Tower."

The Envelope and The Sword

I take no ownership of the name Ben Braeden or any other character from supernatural.

I got to the meeting spot just in time, even with the run-in with that weird girl. "Where is the package Boy." A strange man hiding in the shadows holds out his hand.

I clear my throat. "Its right here." I pull my pack from my back and unzip the first compartment, and to my surprise its not there. "This cant be be, it was in here and i didt go anywhere else, its impossible."

The mans eyes seem to glow bright red. "Where is it boy." he shouts as i shake my head.

"I don't know, i must have dropped it when that girl ran into me." the man rushes at me with unbelievable speed.

His hand wraps around my throat and fangs pop up next to his normal set of teeth as his nails cut into my neck. "What girl."

I grab his hand. "I don't know who she is i have never seen her before." He throws me down and ally toward a wall, but i never hit it with a thud i slam into the girls arms.

Gasping for air she lays me on the ground, "Stay there if you want to live." she pulls the sword from her hip and charges at the man. His nails seem to grow into talons, but they are no match for her blade. she slashes at his legs bringing him to his knees, then with one swift slash she cuts his head off.

It rolls on the ground blood splattering everywhere, im shocked at the amount of blood that has covered her shirt. she slowly walks towards me, i try to get away but my leg cracks as i try to stand. she gets about five feet away and stops, she then pulls the envelope out of her pocket and tosses it at me. "Sorry but i need him to lower his guard, oh and tell Mike he is next."

I grab the envelope and throw it to the ground. "I don't want to be apart of this."

She winks at me. "Honey you already are, who do you think he will come after for his package, it sure isn't going to be me. for that im truly sorry." she turns and runs away vanishing around the corner of the ally. "See you soon, Ben." echos through the ally.

I struggle to stand as I feel my ribs pop, and my neck grow stiff. It feels as if I have been in a car accident and whip lash is setting in. I finally get back to my feet and hurry back to the school. Its eerie with the lights dimming all through out the town. "I'm coming mike."

A Introduction

So awhile ago i was watching one of my favorite shows when i realized how much potential a character had that was dropped from the show, so i started writing this just for fun.

The show, some of these characters come from, is called Supernatural. the first few chapters or scenes have their characters and i take no ownership of them you can call this a fan fic if you like, but i know the lore behind it enough to make this my own.
So Here We Go......

Ben Braeden's untold story's

Chapter One
The things that go bump.

My name is Ben Braeden, my mom always told me there was dangerous people out there. But she never would have guested or believed what I did last Friday, the truth is I barely believe it happened myself. Let me just say people are not as dangerous as we think we are, there are far worse things that go bump in the night.
It all started at school, I was minding my own business when my fist meet this boys face after he knocked my brother down. I know you think I over reacted but that kid is and asshole. What was I to do my brothers only six and Tim is going on sixteen, he picked the wrong family to mess with. Anyway I'm off to the principal's office when I see this man standing out side one of the school windows.
His trench coat caught my eye it was odd for it being so sunny this week, before I could noticed anything else Tim kicks my knee and I hit the floor. "You bitch, I'm going to kick your ass." I suddenly feel a hand on my shoulder and I don't think, I just turn and let my fist fly. My anger instantly fades to regret as my fist slams into principal Winston's stomach. He seems unphased as he grabs my arm and drags me into his office as the door swings open I am hit with a foul stench. Its kind of stinks like rotten eggs and hot tar. I can't help it, I gasp for air. "What is that smell, Mike."
Mike shakes his head. "Its senor week Ben, you should have seen my car this morning." He shakes his head as he sits down.
pulp down in a chair and pick up a photo of mike and a young woman. "How is Julie doing."
Mike holds out his hand for the photo. "She's fine but we need to talk about your behavior, this is the fourth time this week that you have gotten into a fight."
I roll my eye. "Tim needs to leave my brother alone come on, mike he is an asshole."
Mike stares at me. "Benjamin your smart month is what has gotten you into more trouble then anything this year. I'm sorry but I'm going to have to call your mother."
I hand him the photo. "Come on mike can't we just work something out between us again."
He shakes his head. "Last time it didn't work out that well."
I cross my arms. "I got the work done didn't I."
Mike grins. "Ya but what about the kid you punched."
I grin . "Well he shouldn't have laughed at my vest."
Mike sighs. "Ben if you don't get this under control you will not graduate."
My smile fades. "What do I need to do."
Mike shakes his head. "Look I got this errand that I need taken care of, if you can do this with out getting into any trouble I will wipe your record or we can call your mother and work out how to do summer schooling so you can still graduate."
I smile. "Thank you I will do what ever errand you can cook up as long as you keep my mother out of this." He nods and points to the door. The rest of my day was normal. Math, social studies, lunch.
At lunch me and my best friend Jill sit at our table alone trying not to draw the attention of the morons of this hellish school, today we made it through with only five smart ass remarks about what a cute couple we make. I wish they would just shut up come on boys and girls can be just friends. After lunch we head to study hall, and then its off to gym.
Today is the rope climb, my only thought on that is when in the hell will I ever have to climb a rope. The teacher promises that its to teach use the value of hard work are something like that. After gym I take a quick shower and meet Jill at our usual spot by the flag poll. "Hey Ben what's the plan tonight."
I shake my head. "Nothing much I have to stay after school today to work out my punishment for this morning.
Her head droops. "ok then I will see you tomorrow morning for our study session unless you have a date with Tim again." She is the nerd that keeps my grades at the c average I have had for the past four years, I should really listen to her she knows her stuff but when it comes to Tim or my family I can't help myself.
I smile. "Not this weekend, this weekend I'm all yours."
She blushes as she turns toward the buses that have started to line up. "Bye Benny." She is the only one I will let call me that other them my mother so don't try it.
I turn back around and head  back toward the school just as the last kids run frantically towards the bus showing little concern for thoughts around them. One boy runs into me, I think his name is James or was it Jason I can't remember but we have math to gather. Anyways he politely say that he is sorry and rushes off to his bus.
As I enter the school a chill runs down my spine, something doesn't feel right. I shake it off and make my way to Mikes office. "Hey Mike you ready for that errand." The silence is eerie while I look at the empty office. "Mike where are you, I don't want to be here all night." I say as I turn around and look up and down the hall.
I turn back to the empty office. "Whatever, I will just wait here." I take a step forward.
"Hey Ben." Mike is now standing right in front of me.
"What the hell man, trying to give me a heart attack." His eyes kinda flicker from green to yellow then back to normal.
He smiles. "Something like that."
I take a deep breath. "Okay so what is this errand you need me to run." He waves for me to follow him over to his desk.
When he reaches the desk he opens the middle draw and pulls out a envelope. "I need you to deliver this to the corner of elm and fifth, don't ask questions and most of all don't open the envelope."
swallow hard "Okay.... What's it for." I said with worry.
Mike shakes his head. "Your really bad at this listening thing aren't you, no questions means no questions. Now get a move on it, it has to be there by six a clock and its already five forty five."
I grab the envelope and place it in the first pouch of my pack as i hurry out the door, luckily elm and fifth is only three blocks away. "Let's see if track paid off."  I begin to sprint down the sidewalk until five minutes later I run into a someone. "Watch it ass hat." I say as I stand back up.
The girl I ran into stands at the same time. "You got balls kid I will give you that but you have no ideal who your talking to." Her short blonde hair seems to sparkle in the setting suns light. She has what looks to be a silver sword awkwardly  attached to her hip. "I should cut you down where you stand, but I have bigger fish to fry so count your self lucky."
She winks as she runs away. "What the hell was that about."
