Lesson One: The Odd Initiation

Her smile is always on my mind now, like and addiction its never far from my grasp and yet she is never close enough to touch. She soon became a new student of my school, a senior that was held back a few years. But she never talked to me that was until two weeks after the event that changed my way of thinking forever. That Saturday morning was just like any other except I had a young beautiful woman knocking on my window. She waves for me to follow her outside, I open the window. "What could my local stalker want, its been two weeks and you haven't said a word."

Claire smiles. "Are you still breathing?" I roll my eyes. "That's what I thought you ungrateful brat."

I shake my head. "Whatever it couldn't have been that bad."

She shakes her head. "Not that bad, three vampires, two demons and to top it off I had a surprise visit from my dad. He says I need to train you so that's what we're going to do."

I close the window and rush out the door. "Going to a friend’s house be back later." I slam the door behind me, I can't see her anywhere so I walk around my house heading toward my window when she leaps at me with a small dagger. Slicing through my shirt and part of my shoulder. "What was that for?"

She slowly puts the knife away. "Lesson one: Initiation." She tosses be a canteen of what looks like water with some kind of necklace floating in it. "Drink it." As I take a sip she flashes a picture of me. "Also I need you to say Christo.”

I smile at her. "Christo, now tell me what all that was about."

She smiles back. "Those were simple test to see if someone is a human or not." She looks around. "Okay so you passed with flying colors, follow me to what I believe will be a suitable location for the rest of your training." She leads us down to and old abandon lumber yard that is next to the creek that pass through the whole town. She walks us into the center of the lumberyard and she stops next to a barrel that has a fire going, in the fire rest a metal rod. “Take off your shirt.”

I look around confused. “What does my shirt have to do with training?” I ask as I begin to take off my shirt, as I pull it over my head Claire grabs a hold of my hands. “What are you doing Claire?” I scream in pain as I smell my own skin burning, the smell makes me gag, she only holds it there or a few minutes but the pain makes it feel like an hour.

She tosses the rod back in the fire, and lets me fall to the ground. “That’s a anti possession sigil, with it you can’t be rode like a little bitch by any demon no matter how hot they think they are.”
